The Impact Of Volcanic Ash Mount Rinjani Lombok International Airport Temporarily Closed

PRAYA - Reffering to the Notice to Airmen (NOTAMR) B4639 dated August 1st, 2016 and due to the volcanic ash of Mount Rinjani (Mount Baru Jari), The Lombok International Airport did not operate from the date August 1st, 2016 at 16:15 pm until the 2nd of August, 2016 at 10:00 am.

Due to this closure, Lombok International Airport did not serve the flight that landed and departed from Lombok for both domestic and international destination. Information got from PVMBG’s Head that happened an eruption of Mount Rinjani on a small scale and the PVMBG would inform it gradually. Himawari’s monitoring result by BMKG, the movement of volcanic ash led from the South East to the South part from eruption center with an altitude above 20,000 ft.(pm)
